I have used sea foam a couple times and never even thought of changing the oil after instead of before. Never had any problems but it makes sense now that I do.
At least I got 1,000 miles out of the oil that is in there now. I will be changing it this upcoming weekend.
When I first started the WS6 up after using it this past weekend it ran like crap. Was sputtering at first on startup and had a terrible lope in the idle. After I got it out onto the highway a little bit it cleared right up and got rid of the rough idle I had prior. I love the stuff.

Reason being that its going to clean out the combustion chambers, which can get the spark plugs quite dirty. When you put it in the oil, it will clean out the bottom end of the engine and oil pan, resulting in dirt and particles becoming dislodged and going into the oil and filter.
So basically you want to do Seafoam first, then do the tune up/oil change

You can add it to the gas tank, oil, and brake booster line. Use 1/3 of a can for each. If you just want to clean the top end of the engine, add 1/2 a can to the gas tank, and feed the other half through the brake booster line slowly (maybe use a funnel) with the engine idleing.

On a side not it works great for finding exhaust leaks. My dad has a 81 924 Turbo and thought it was knocking, told him about sea foam because we thought maybe it had a lot of build up and he ran it threw the gas tank and come to dind out it was a pin hole sized leak at the turbo to exhaust flange.
Saved hime a lot of work and money.
