Seafoam is great in moderation... alot of people who foul sh*t is due to dumping an entire can into the intake... seafoam is mostly petroleum... it only requires a little to remove alot of the carbon buildup inside an engine... its perfectly safe in moderation...

Yeah. I think I've seen it at Pep-Boys. Definitely at Advance/Discount and Autozone. Sometimes at Wal-Mart. ^ that's what the can looks like. Somtimes it just blends right in and I have to stare for a few mins to find it, so I figured I'd post a pic so that interested parties know what it looks like.

Okay...but why?? Any good reason to back that up, or just your opinion??

Seafoam is great stuff when used properly. Between that and Fuel Injection Cleaner (Techron) you can keep your car running smoothly for thousands of miles. Carbon buildup and dirty injectors do nothing but harm to an otherwise good engine.

Just my opinion based on the ones who have screwed up there car using it Vs the ones who have ahd success. It may be great stuff but I wouldnt use it in my car as stateted because it's my car. Plenty of cars have lived long lives without it so dont make it seem like your car will blow up tommorow if you dont hurry up and use it. It someone else wants to use it by all means, go for it.

Well its not like the car is going to blow up if you don't use it, it just won't run as well throughout its lifespan. Carbon buildup and dirt are counter productive to engine efficiency, which of course means less power, worse fuel economy, increased emmissions, and rougher idle.

I think its worth using every 3,000 miles to keep your engine at its peak efficiency.

It probably doesn't, there's no real proof of that.

However, engines that run well throughout their lives tend to last longer than engines that are poorly maintained or run inefficiently.

You don't use Seafoam so much to extend your engines life as you do to make the engine run smoothly and efficiently. ANd who doesn't want a smoother, more efficient, more powerful engine??

I see your point and understand completly. But as I said before I dont think I myself me would use it. I wouldnt mind trying it on some of the deiesl engines I work on but if I screw something up I'm toast.

When u put it in the gas tank, it cleans ur tank? and if it does is it like other fuel cleaners where the gunk gets lifted off the bottom of the tank, and end up clogging the injectors, at least if it was not done regularly? If it doesnt how does it work different from other cleaners?

Youtube Seafoam and it will show you how to use it. I have also used Deep Creep also made by Seafoam for the TB and Intake.
