I dont see how the front steering would affect the ABS, you should find someone to get a code for it, i would check all the wheel speed sensors since that woul dprobbaly be the first/easiest thing to visually check, that and the fuses for ABS.

There is a wire in ABS harness that you can ground and it will kill the light. If anyone's interested in that without fixing the ABS, I can try to find the sheet I had on that.

There are sensors that are on all 4 wheels. There located in behind the wheel near the top of the brakes. Check those and if those look to be ok then test your ABS, water down a big patch of road/parkinglot and drive on to it at like 30mph and slam your brakes, if they pump your in good shape if not you dont have ABS. I havent had abs for almost a year and i dont notice it at all.

ABS inop light can be caused by a couple things. Bad third brake light in the spoiler, the ABS cable or sensor that goes to your rear differential can be bad, or a bad wheel sensor either on the left or right side front of the car or low voltage in the charging/electrical system will throw an ABS INOP
Another common problem is the ground located on the RH shock tower. Try cleaning and tightening it.
Any spark plug wires rerouted so that they are near any ABS wheel sensor harness can cause problems, too.
I believe I read OB2 computer software can read brake codes.
Got this info from another board.
