Powershifting Your Car
I'm curious as how you all learned how to powershift your car?? I've heard practice while regular driving to get the speed down. I'm taking my new stock Z to the track on the 21st and want at least low 14s. I'm a decent driver, but always looking for improvements.

If you guys are throwing it so hard into 3rd that your making your hand slip off and hit the radio, then you have an issue. You should still be able to powershift without slamming the gears that hard. I powershift with only my palm and index & middle finger and I'm faster than anyone I know at it, sans my friend who has been racing since he was about 14. Pay more attention next time you powershift and you'll realize that you need to be more concerned with how quickly you work the clutch, moreso than how hard you can slam the shifter into gear.

wanna keep hand from slipping?? 3 words... HURST PISTOL GRIP !! i love mine.
This one time, before i had the hurst PG, i was racing a GTO and when i shifted into 4th my hand slipped off and i smacked my Girlfriend in the boob. she looked at me like "WTF did i do?" I said "Sorry Honey, hand slipped off" she understood

I would agree with being more concerned with working the clutch quickly because the longer you hold it the more likely you'll be hitting the limiter. It helped me to practice powershifting at a slightly lower rpm precisely for that reason. LOL for the beat up stereo

Wait wait wait... Ive always thought Powershifting involved no use of the clutch, whereas Speed-shifting did (holding throttle and shifting quick). Could be wrong on the terms though.
