free mods are things that can be done for free or cheap, <$10 there are 3 well known ones, the AIR/EGR or emissions delete, the TB bypass that has been dyno proven to add 6-7hp at the rear wheels, then you can delete the catalytic converter, hollow it out or put a pipe in its stead

some people descreen the MAF, but i dont like it.. the screen straightens the air for a better reading.. also if they didnt work people wouldnt put them in there sigs... or wouldnt do them period. they work, i did the TB bypass and the egr/air delete.. picks up alittle..

My $.02 on the MAF De-Screen. My car seemed to lose power in doing so. Or responce I should say. It just didnt feel good on tip in like it did with the screen in. Word is that alot of LT1s are rich to begin with and De-Screening opens up air flow and leans them out for some extra power, however, if you car is stoich to begin with then you may not notice a gain. My advice is to pull the screen and see what you feel. If you take it out carfully, you can just put it back in if you arent all that impressed.

I took mine out, and put the Cam in at the same time. When it got tuned, the guy said that it would actually help my setup when it leans it out.
