Default It finally lives

Well after 20 months on jackstands, the SB2-LT1 moves under it's own power. Now gotta put the rest of it back together...

Thanks guys and you're correct, no windshield. It's so much easier to work on the interior with it out. It will be the last thing that goes back in.

Looks good man!

On the windshield. Hope the old one was good. I had one installed in the wifes 95 Z28 and there is a damn wave in it. I call a few places and they are all saying that is normal. I think not! GM made over million of them with out that damn wave!

Yeah, I wouldn't take that explanation either, I never saw one with a wave in it before.

I had a guy remove it without doing any damage so it's the one going back in.

Thanks for the compliments on the sound. The video does not do it justice. Dual 4" oval with Spintech shootout mufflers dumping right behind the seats.

Yeah gotta concur with that..... like to see how that worked out at the track with your leather helmet and goggles Tech guy would be like "WTF????"

As far as builds are concerned yeah that thing ranks up there..... This is actually a good time cause there are a few LT1's in the works that are going to push the envelope to new heights.... N2ODave, Tony Shepherd, Me, and I think two others are building serious LT1's that should have more than enough power to break into the 8's..... Dave did you ditch the Opti???? I think I've decided to do like Tony did and run a crab distributor and a crank trigger.... I'd hate to put the whole thing together and have it crap itself at the track cause the opti can't put a spark down with the 400 shot hosing down the cylinders...... that would **** me off....

Thanks everyone.

Tony, I can only hope to have the success you have had. Great job on yours as well.

Outlaw, the opti is long gone. It's Accel Gen7 dfi with an Accel dfi distributor that gives both cam and crank signal so no crank trigger either. Changing plug wires is a bitch under the cowl but half of that is gone anyway. I was originally thinking about a belt driven MSD distributor on the front somehow before I decided to do cowl surgery. Maybe that would work better for you.

I like the leather helmet/goggles idea. Maybe add in the silk scarf and cigar as well. It would be funny to see the tech guys face though.

**** if you're gonna do all that might as weld the passengers side door shut and somehow weld on a friggin sidecar to it....... So someone else can enjoy the open air acceleration....

Make sure passenger in sidecar wears metal helmet with a spike on the top.... Like German Panzer tank helmet from WWII....
