Default Help? Intake Q

Ok guys right now i have SLP CAI and im buying a Ws6 style hood.... how do I go to LS1 style intake??? what parts do i need??? i know im gonna need new maf n elbow? what about radiator shroud??



oh BTW i have a 1996 Formula

You should ask this in the LT1 section to get more responses.

WS6 LT1's had the air filter sitting on top of the intake manifold. Wouldn't you want to do that instead? I would think mounting the filter like the LS1's would put the filter far away from the hood opening ruining the ram-air effect.

u realize that lt1 manifold is totally different then the ls1? so theres not gonna be just parts you can interchange

if you would read up there... you would notice im talking about air intakes not the intake manifold.... so re-read it.

I don't think he's talking about the actual intake manifold. Just the area between the throttle body and the air box. (or so I hope)

get a ls1 lower box and lid you will need to grind down the lower box to fit the crossmember and as far as the throttle body to mass air i bought a slp bellow off ebay for like 49.00 but some are using the ferncos from lowes. maybee that will help you out some

Im sure you can find the lower air box piece... ebay or on here. I used to have one, dont know where it went. Use can use some existing holes to bolt it in. You might have to drill a couple out.. but thats no biggie. Then you need the lid, filter, and a 3.5 inch rubber tubing from the lid to the throttle body.... I know it will be REAL close with hood clearance though....
