Default Tip In

Actually it is more discipline in your Right foot rather in tuning, If you had a progressive cable this would really help solve the issue. You can aid the Tip In driveability via the timing tables in the lower KPA range.

What do you mean similar? Its a sheetmetal intake on a singleplane. Same thing that everyone is talking about.

You get someone who can tune, you will have have no "tip in" issues.

My car drives amazingly well, I love it. I have AWESOME throttle response with big heads, big cam, big intake.

WHen I got mine from Intakeelbows.com, it had nothing in the "floor" of the elbow for the shortside radius. I mocked up a piece of manilla folder as to what I wanted and sent it back to Aaron and he welded a piece in. It seems to work well. Aaron has AWESOME customer service!

Here is a pic of my intake elbows.com elbow, shame he doesnt make them any longer.

David
See the pic you posted was the type of elbow I would have used if I decided to go that route. They don't make it anymore. Oh well.

Ray has EXACTLY what I was thinking about. One more question and its the same one CMan raised:

"Where would you connect all your Vacuum lines, map sensor, etc. to this type of intake? I'm just trying to figure out how complicated it will be, while still keeping it a street car?"

our elbow has 2 vacuum ports on the bottom....we can add more if you need them. The Vic-E manifold has a large port built into the manifold for the brake booster.

Mine had a piece of 1/8 aluminum plate welded on the back of the elbow. I drilled and tapped 5 ports in the back for vacuum. I used all the screw in vacuum ports that came off the stock intake.

I mounted the MAP sensor underneath the cowl. FPR is straight forward. And I put a "T" in for the line from the vented opti and A/C vacuum. One is used for PCV, the other for power brake vacuum.

I made me a little deal for the throttle cable.

Sounds good. As you saw from my PM to you a little while back that if I go this route, I'd use your elbow... as it'd save some $$$ and helps maintain driveability if I can use my 58mm TB and stock cable location, sensors, etc.

How about the PCV as seen here: http://shbox.com/1/pcv.jpg

Am I missing anything else other than Vaccuum lines, MAP, PCV... anything else need to be connected?

FWIW, on a 90mm setup you still use all your stock sensors except for the TPS. And that takes 5minutes to solder in.

I didn't realize it was that easy. Cost it also an issue though... this setup is already gonna cost a few $$$ and from reading here, it seems that the 58mm may be only a slight restriction versus the 90mm.

I forgot to thing of the EGR as well. It's mounted to the rear of the Intake like this: http://shbox.com/1/egr1.jpg

Anyone ever try saving it... or just discard it? I was thinking of connecting it somehow in case of a visual inspection from the authorities.

I cant imagine that anyone would spend the coin on a single plane setup and then plan on running EGR/AIR. Would be interesting to see though.

Good Luck.
