How many miles are on it? If you have a nice fresh bottom end, go for it. If the miles are high, maybe just do the cam.

Bret Bauer Cam and some juice. You'll get more Hp out of his cam than that hot cam. Just tell him what you want

I am NOT a fan of the HOT cam BUT that said the 10 degree I/E split would if anything lend it too working well on the bottle.

I would guess the person who told you no is not that familiar with the LT1, it breaks a lot of the old rules the Gen1 guys are used to living by.

I agree; with all the time and effort to install a cam, the extra money is well spent on a custom cam.

I don't see any reason you can't run juice on a hotcam or custom cam.
It should be similar to the cam you would run in an N/A car.
The LT1 would easily handle a 75 shot.
I was actually considering a 150+ wet kit for my LE2.1HL setup.

A forced-induction setup on the other hand would "like" something a little different.

A Cam isnt going to matter much with a little 100shot.

The cam itself is a nice nitrous cam, but your bottom end may not like it.

I went from 12.9 at 109 to 11.9 at 119 with a 75 shot on my Hot cam. I no longer have this set up on the car, but it was fun for a while.

Yes you will see good results, but the engine is capable of alot more with a more aggressive grind.

in the 1/8th mile on the hotcam I was running 8.3's. With a 150 shot on the hotcam I am running 7.10's. Tell me that cam doesn't like the spray.

Thanks, I'm debating a new cam. What I'm really looking for is a similar profile to the 847 cam, but a little more nitrous friendly. Is that possible?

I think the big selling factor of the hotcam is that it comes as a complete package. I think it's a great "middle of the road" cam. Excellent manners for a daily driver, yet aggressive enough that you can tell a difference. Just my .02

I also agree, I had it as my daily drivers cam for over a year. There are more agressive cams with street manners though.

I ran an 11.6 @ 119 with the hotcam and a 150 shot. All motor I ran a 12.9 @ 107.7. I think it felt good with nitrous.
