the pulley under my alternator is sqeaking i put oil on and it stopped what is this pulley(tentioner?) and do i replace it? how much does it cost. i can replace my self. HELP!

 

The pulley directly under the alt is the power steering pulley. Next to it is the tensioner pulley which is very easy to replace. Im pretty sure you cant replace just the wheel it self but have to buy the whole thing. Its only two bolts to take off. Not hard at all.

 

how exaclty do u do it.. i have a idler pulley that needs replaced. I have the idler pulley... and btw, autozone sells them for like 20 bucks

 

how common is it for the power stearing pulley to go out?

 

mine used to do the same thing but i oiled it with tranny fluid every once in a while and now it doesnt do it anymore so idk whatever you want to do..
