hood
look at GMHTP magazine. a few months ago...... thye did an article on this white Z28........ he had a lift off hood. they had views from the front on where the pins go. the back is in the shock tower...and I believe the fronts are in the front..where the bumper pins into.
look at the pics...you'll see what I am talking about. the lift off hoods are less weight...I am currently going this route.

I have a 4inch cowl on my Mustang. I'm 6'6 and still struggle to see over it at times. Not a big struggle but I'd be affraid of making a right turn and hitting a midget. Dont people worry about chipping the hood when removing it to do work on the engine?
I had a lift off 4" cowl hood on my 72 Chevelle...I'll never do that again. I got caught in a cross wind in my driveway while taking off the hood...blew me across the yard like I was holding a sail! And racecar or not, chipping the paint gets real old...I'd like to see the weight difference between my bolt on Harwood on my 95 and a lift off. I know you lose the hood struts and latch...I'm just curious...
