Take your time and span it out over a few days, also keep things very clean and dont rush any thing. You also dont need to drench things in motor oil before they go in and dont use assembly lube on the cam, light coat of motor oil will do. As long as you have good install guides, i.e several and check every thing your doing it will be ok. You also need to drop the oil pan when doing the cam or you will tear the gasket.

Please explain what degree the cam means?
Why is this important?
Can it be done in the car?
Is there a procedure for this anywhere?

I assume the you degree a cam to sanity check that it is correct. If somthing appears to be off then what is adjusted to make things better?

Is there a way to reposition a crank gear? Any other adjustment?

You need to install the cam at the ICL that is listed on the cam card to make sure the parts will work correctly. If it's installed wrong you can bend valves and be seriously down on power.

Bo,

How's the LS1 runnin in the Stang? That cam enough for ya?

Yeah, definatly degree the cam. Or you'll end up like me going back in there and having to correct your mistake. But I was told not to degree it and that it was not necessary, so DEGREE THE CAM. Do not forget that.

these are some great replies, but don't forget to state any problems you had and how you corrected them.
