Default valve cover spacers

i just bought some roller rockers and they are 1.6 and i have the lt4 hotcam. The rockers hit the valvecovers when they are tightened down, so i need some center bolt valve cover spacers that will still clear the alternater. Or would i need to buy taller valvecovers that will clear the alternater insetead. If so spacers where do you buy them, and where do you buy tall valvecovers for centerbolt? thanks for the help

Josh

How do you plan on getting a seal on the base of your valve cover when you raise em up?

well the pic has been removed but the reason it doesnt work the webbing inside your valve covers is too wide to fit between your rockers...so you ned to bend them straight or gring them down till they are straight...post a pics of the insede of your valve cover and some1 or i can photoshop what needs to be removed

I think Injuneer posted that most spacers leak. That scared me away.

All you need to do is flatten the bends in the center supports on the valve covers. A big pair of pliers works well for that. That made them clear my CompCams HiTech rockers.

Of course, one side I cut out, the other side I bent... the cut out side leaked. I ended up going LT4 valve covers with MBA billet inserts. They look great. Without the inserts, LT4 valve covers are a little... boring. They did drop right on no problem tho.

I'm running spacers on my LS1 car. With the cast stock LS1 valve covers, they don't leak at all. The spacer uses a stock neoprene gasket against the head, and the stock valve cover seals against the spacer with its gasket. I don't see the stock stamped steel LT1 valve covers being anywhere near as rigid as the cast LS1 covers tho.
