HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem
HELP PLEASE!!!!!! water pump problem i own a 95 formula
i let a friend drive my car today!!!!!!!!!! stupid me
anyway i called him after he had been gone a while and asked him how it was running to which he replied a little hot only about 260 degrees!!!!!!!!!!
he gets it back to me and the water is boiling in the radiator and the needle is well over 260 and now it is leaking water through the whole on the bottom on the water pump. what does this mean did he bust a gasket in side the water pump? do i need to replace the water pump or is this a simple fix?

that blows bro.... well u better put something under it so your opti doesnt ******* toast... your gonna have to get a new pump if its leakin out that hole its toast go electric... and if it was hot for awhile well head gaskests and other stuff might be fucked/blown good job friend!! 
well look at the bright side a nice eletric water pump and maybe a new MSD opti. i love when something brakes it gives me a excuse to upgrade.....even thow my 95 with 64000 miles hasnt broke anything yet...GM makes it to good

dam that does suck. yup, the water pump turbine inside the water pump broke. That little hole on the bottom of the water pump is kind of like an overflow hole so that when there is a build up of pressure inside the actual water pump it pushes the water out there in order to relieve the pressure inside the pump. Definetly go with an electric water pump, I'm so glad I did, and it also does give you an excuss to upgrade the opti to either a MSD one or the Dynaspark opti.
