No problem, thanks for clarifying. I've talked to Bob Bailey last couple days and my issues appear to be a mystery, I had to move on, the unit is good, brand new in fact, wish it would have worked, but for now opti is in, works, I'm happy

Never looked much into the Delteq, never cared for the 4-coil setup, but have heard mixed stories on it, same as LTCC.

Great numbers! You should be well into the tens NA. From the graphs, guess that is a manual trans? You should be very pleased. Btw, all I have ever used was a stock GM Optipsark. Most opti problems are self induced.

Congrats!

Excellent job

Wish I could get down in some better air. My LT4 headed 385 would be close to some of those numbers.

That is awesome, my hopes are starting to rise for my setup now. 396 LT4, with the AFR 227 LT4 heads, big *** custom cam, running close to almost everything you are. I'm using the monoblade TB instead, and a few different suspension parts, and a 9" instead of a 12-bolt. I would love to see you cam specs and compare them with mine, and see how far off we are. I will be dyno'ing mine next week if it's running good. Oh, and also have the t56 that is going to be rebuilt, with all you have except the hardened gears.

I tune for a couple of shops in Denver, and their corrected dyno numbers are as high as cars down here. At the track you would certainly run quicker at sea level, but your dyno numbers would not likely improve. Mine makes 514 SAE/522 Std through an unlocked 4400 RPM converter, so he has enough power to run well into the tens, close to 130 mph NA. That is an easy nine second car with a little nitrous. Mine picks up right at 1/10th of a second per 1000' DA improvement, that might give you some idea what your car could run at sea level.

Good luck, Ed

Thanks...you have tuned mine, many a times. It's the best tune yet! Sorry I was't talking about the corrected numbers. I've never used any of the SAE numbers on the Superflow dyno I use.

I went to a March PSCA race in pheonix, but battled an ignition miss all weekend. Car picked up .5 in the 1/4 w/ miss; 11.5 -11.6.

1/10th per 1000 DA sounds just about right to me.

This thread is the real-life tangible evidence that backs up all the testaments that are found in the "Why build/keep an LT1?" thread.

Outstanding #'s man. Way to keep the Opti-Warriors in the game.

Apparently the AFR headed guys are able to hit the 500rwhp mark also. There was some skepticism a few months back about this. Great numbers!

468 rwhp netted me a 10.84, of course this was in an auto!

Thanks man, well tonight hit HRP and my best run was 11.6 @121 launching @4500 rpm it finally quit bogging, my crappy tire gauge think the tires were around 17psi, I borrowed a good one and got it down to 12psi and that launch was crazy, car was all over the place, I let out in 3rd gear finally. bumped it back to 17psi and it likes that. Time for some real drag tires. Think I'll bump the rear QA1s up to 10 and it likes 2 on the front. It ran good for me being 2 yrs rusty. Finally got my R/T down to .003 was the best with a 1.7 60'. Gotta lotta work to do on my skills though, I would like a 1.5 60'. I need to lose weight too, she weighed in @3570 me in it with a 1/2 tank.

I met some cool folks from here out their tonight that took some good videos, I'll post em up when they email em.

To run quick with a stick car, you need to pretty much leave on the rev limiter. If it won't hook leaving at 6500 or so, you need to work on the car and tires. A stick car needs to turn the tires over a few times when you drop the clutch, unlike an automatic car which needs to dead hook. If you have a factory PCM you won't be able to leave much higher than 7000. After you get it hooking that way, you will need to see Madman about some travel limiters for the front end. Wheel stands will then be an issue. That is how stick cars run quick. You will need good parts under it. I used to have a stick car than ran 121 mph, it was usually good for 10.80s then. I launched that one at 8500, but it was a little 292" sbc with a 750 carb. No torque, just flywheel inertia.

Good luck, Ed
