700r swap
People think the 700r4 is stronger but fact is it was installed behind weaker engines and most shops will messup a 4L60E worse than they do a 700r4, BUT the hardparts are interchangable and any good 700R4 build will include using updated 4L60E parts.
I dont have the 94 car That I was swaping anymore I need to change my signature.
I have a 94 z28. The 4l60 in it out of a s-10 and it. And its not doing so well. I was just going to use the 700r till I can get the right trans to put in it. I've got a lot going on with changing jobs moving etc. to be spending a lot of time on this car right now.

I bought the car with the S10 trans in it. I was just wanting to know if I could use my ECM to lock the T/C up insted of buying an aftermarket unit to do it its only going be in there the rest of the summer.
What transmission crossmember did you use. I had a T-56 before I started my conversion and I would like to know what crossmember to use. I think I just need to get one from a 4L60E car, but I want to make sure first.
To control lockup I went with a manual lockup switch.
for those that say the 700 is weak...I beg to differ.

Built right and it can be strong. My builder built mine for my application plus gave me a good warrenty on it.
I was going to go with a Turbo 350 but I really wanted the 4th gear, because I'm still going to drive it on the highway some.
Mine was buillt by John Goebel...the problem most people run into with the 700r4/4L60/4L60E is burning the 3/4 clutch packs in high HP applications.
John corrects this by building his own front pump and fluid control. The normal 4L60 unit has variable fluid flow and pressure, mine has constant pressure constant fluid flow modeled after the powerglide. I am running an easy 700+ hp, that is how I can say it is not weak.
He has had one of his trannies in a 700rwhp blown Z28, a solid roller LT1 on a 400 shot, and a stroked, 300 shot LS1. I am not a one man testimony

Why not just use a 4L60E that is for an LS1?
