I don't know about adapting C6 front brakes, but C5 brakes need an adapter bracket and some minor surgery to the knuckle. They work well on LS1 F-bods. I haven't any experience with LT1 F-bods which had different OEM fronts, I believe.

You might try the Handling and Braking forum here on LS1Tech/

C5 brakes will work but they require some cutting (more for lt1s than ls1s), and you need at least 17" wheels.

I don't know anything about swapping c6 brakes though. I'm not sure if anyone has tried that yet.

The way they do it is they cut the little ears off of the LT1 Spindles. I have the LS1 Brakes in mine, and all I have to do is get the Brackets that they make. The LS1 Brakes work a hell of alot better than the LT1's.

I'm putting in LS1 brakes in a little while, i assume you'll need the spindles and calipers for your brakes as well. Though C6 brakes are pretty big so as said before, you'll need bigger rims if you don't already have at least 17's on right now.

bigger brakes = more weight as well ... just remember that. personally a well setup lt1 brake package is all you will need! i have had no issues, and dont like touchy heavy brakes the ls1's seem to have compared to the lt1. it is all personal preference there ... but the weight is an issue imo.

For me its saftey. I don't care how touchy they are, my brakes have saved me a few times and if they are better, that only makes me more confident in my car.

I second that. The LS1 Big Brakes I setup on mine have saved me a few times from some idiots. I removed the front ABS on my car, and I haven't got them to lock up, they stop quick. Yea, they might weigh more, but the more power you have, you want to stop it faster.

I've got C5 brakes with Carbotech pads and routinely outstop stock C6/Z06's. The C6 setup is better on paper than in practice. Bang for the buck says C5 on a 4th gen F-Body. (LS1 brakes on a 96 are way better than the LT1 setup, but I've yet to be outbraked by anything with GM F-body brakes.)

PM Trackbird for C5/C6 conversions for F-bodies.
