Your local Advance Auto Parts has rebuilt "Factory Air" brand compressors w/ clutch for $200ish. I tried the used compressor route first and got hosed in the end, just redid my whole system with the above compressor from Advance, new Dryer for $50, new Expansion valve for $40. Install was pretty easy, used a $10 vacuum pump (used in conjuction w/ an air compressor) and $30 (sale) a/c manifold gauge set both from Harbor frieght to vacuum the system and install the proper amount of refridgerant.

Yeah, 1 year warranty but I believe for it to be honored you have to install it w/ a new dryer at least, and maybe also an expansion valve. Best to change that stuff everytime there is a problem w/ the compressor anyway as they can't be flushed, I think most of the compressor warranties require this.

The one I got from advance was $208 plus a $10 core charge. Maybe the prices vary by region or something or there is difference from the LT1 and LS1 compressor, I didn't notice you had a 2000.
