Default 383, 388 or 396

i plan on building a stroker. i want to have 500ish rwhp n/a and spray about 200 shot of nitrous on top of that. i plan to have a 10-11 sec n/a.. and 9-10 on spray. the car will be gutted and i will drive it on weekends and track use only. it will have auto tranny. what stroker should i go with to achieve this goal? and where can i get the parts?

you can do it with any stroker...the 396 may allow you to run the biggest cam, theoretically, but the fastest cars are under 396 because of the reverse cooling jackets...IMO, the 383 will do it, but other guys go real big with the 396's and do great. The more cubes, the flatter the torque curve with the biggest cams, usually, but there is little difference in high cube motors. Somebody a little more knowledgeable with hopefully chime in.

Callies crank, Oliver rods, JE pistons...imho, thats about the most stout rotating assembly out there..its $$$, but you're gonna spend that doing what you're doing...

either way is fine, some 383s are better than other 396s, some 396s are better than some 383s. i would keep my eye out for both and see what you can find a good deal on. if i found a killer deal on a 383 I wouldnt pass it up over a 396 just because it was a 383. same for the 396.

you wont find a better deal than the top end on the motor im selling. im selling the entire motor for about the price of just the top end
and this motor will make the kind of power your looking for
