You could do a complete turbo setup buying everything used and on a deal for $2000-2500... and you could buy a used supercharger setup for about the same..

choose your posion.

I'll break down mine...

Headers $192
Cheap turbo $240 (temp only)
Oil feed and return $100
mandrel bent pipes for crossover and downpipe $236
Injectors $250-300
v-band clamps $100
Blow-off valve $200
Wastegate $200-300
Tunercats and Definition file $90
OBDII cable and what not $80
OBDI Conversion $188
Intercooler $250
Cold side $200
Intake elbow $100

Total $2526

That is complete with more than you would get with the supercharger. Here you have the tuning software and cable. You have injectors. You also have intercooler. Thsoe are a few big things a supercharger kit does not come with (at least used for that price). Normaly this is what you would pay for a non-intercooled supercharger kit with a FMU to handle fuel (*puke*).

By the way... everything on my list is brand new..

add about $1300 to the price to have a good headunit

Pieced everything together... i could give you links to everything i suppose...

best thing is to research, understand, then shop.... once you have everything is when the real fun begins because you get to fab all it up.

If you want "bolt on and go" then supercharger is the better choice.

But with turbo, you have the satifaction of doing it yourself and then it is easily upgraded.

Pros of turbo
-Easy to upgrade
-Boost control on-the-fly
-Not done by many people

Cons of Turbo
-Complicated
-Expensive
-Up-keep

The big question is how far do you want to go? More then 8 psi will need a built motor to stay safe, yeah you could push it on race gas and all but still not safe.

I would decide what you want then start looking for what you want used. Like a blow off valve, turbo (try and get pics of it pulled apart if used incase its trashed) unless its from someone you or others here trust, clamps, oil lines. All of that can be bought used on here quite a bit.

My future plan is a 4XX inch iron LS1 with a big single hair dryer, Big Stuff 3 ect ect.
Granted thats pricey but the other day I saw a brand new BS3 for a lot cheaper then new, brand new blower JE pistons cheap, a while back saw a T-91 and a T-88 fairly cheap. I have seen new BOV's headers, ect ect.

Only problem with the Turbos is finding one with the specs you want. There really is not such thing as a cookie cutter turbo or motor when it comes to big hp.
