if u found a kit, then go for it. buy and install it, there are t3/t4 hybrid turbos u can use tht are sort of cheap
an example, on my diy turbo on my lt1, (this was back in 97-98)
i built a turbo system with stock manifolds, ported and mild steel, ex. plumbing
with a Cummins turbo off a 95 5.9 Dodge Ram diesel truck and a A/A intercooler made from 2 supra cores and fabbed end tanks. for fuel i used
an fmu and larger injectors.
id say the car made about 450-475+hp
i would see up to 9psi, and even up to 12psi, and it would hold it from 2300-5500-5700 rpm but the opti couldnt keep up after that.
this was on an otherwise stock everything lt1 95 camaro,
that Cummins turbo is a t3/t4 hybrid and it works very well and makes good power and spools very quick on a 350 ci engine, i have even made 775+ rwhp with 2 of these turbos on a 383 SBC for another friends 3rd gen camaro
on pump gas,
so they have some potential, but they are not race units
great for street and some race use, spool quick
on another note, the turbo does not know it is a diesel turbo or a gas turbo nor does it care, it matters yes,but not really unless its a dedicated racer, but it works for the price had. imo
ps if i remeber correctly, it cost +/- than 1500$ to do the kit, with me doing all the fab and parts, turbo and intercoolers came from wrecked cars
but were in working order.

Also what do you think the max PSI could be reached and used often on a stock LT1?

they all upgrade to larger units, on a 350 ci motor they would be of no use,not even using 2
stock lt1 6-9psi with a/a intercooler, 93 octane, sounds bout right
