Default Accel 300+ ignition/coil

Has anyone used the accel 300+ ignition for 93-95 LT1 T/As and camaros. I was thinking of getting it and wonder if anyone had any info on it and the install. Is it pretty much plug and play or will i have to do some wire splicing.

Plug and play.
And if mine is any indication it will last forever.

I bought mine around 95 and it failed after 3 months. Called excell and they told me they were getting allot back because of some faulty part and to return the unit to them no questions asked. few days later they sent me back the complete new kit= coil, wires etc. I haven't had a problem since 60K miles.

I can't say I noticed any real feel in a performance gain, but the emmisions readings did go down slightly, so it does seem to burn the mixture better.

I had one years ago, saw no gains. It did however make a really cool ticking sound with the engine running.

Guys... an Accel 300+ignition/coil is not the same as an opti-spark. It is a coil an and IGNITION BOX. It is truly plug and play. I bought my 300+ back in 1998 and I haven't had any problems. I wired in my FAST system without any problems. I did change to an MSD coil when I did my rebuild just because the coil was now a few years old and looked dirty (couldn't come clean). With 22 psi and 770 rwhp, my car never breaks up with my combination of an Accel 300+ ignition box, DynaSpark, MSD coil, MSD wires, and NGK TR6 spark plugs.

Mine has been on the car for 110 thousand miles.
Much better rev limiter than the stock one.

Keep in mind that the rev limiter of the Accel does not take over for the stock PCM. If you have the Accel rev limiter set at 6500 rpms and the stock PCM is at 5700 rpms, the stock rev limiter will kick in first. Just set the stock rev limiter higher than the Accel and you'll be fine.

And yes... the Accel rev limiter is much better than the stock rev limiter.
