2002 special order lt4 camaro
Hey guys first post in this forum so here goes it.
Just when I thought I knew all the special orders and options available for these cars during production I got thrown this fastball today. I took my car to be inspected and the man at the desk seeing I had a camaro told me he owned a 2002 ss camaro. Heres the catch. He said He special ordered his himself in 2002 from the factory, it was shipped to slp where they placed an Lt4 bluprinted engine rated at 425 horse. He also went on to say that 2002 camaros could be ordered from slp with either an ls1, lt1, or lt4 engine. he claimed the price for his car was $49,000 approx. The car was outside so I checked it out, the exterior appearance was of a 2002 camaro with ram air hood etc. but the interior appeared to be that of a 95 camaro (from seats to dash to guages.) I've looked all day for info on this and I can't find any Is this guy full of it or what???
P.S. I hope I posted this in the right section thanks for your help!!!

Thanks everyone!! for your your quick responce. I' ve read a ton of lit. on these cars and i suspected he was full of it. It was driving me nuts cus i never heard of it. every once in a while you need someone beside you to confirm that if it sounds and smells like bullshit it is. come to think of it he said he had it repainted viper blue and it looked like the panels were aftermarket by the look of the gaps. I assummed he might have had a few fender benders, i guess he just did a 98- 02 facia and hood swap. thanks again
--> hahaha he told me he owned a 1993 zr1 with 20,000 mile and he said you couldn't buy one with that kind of miles for under $60,000 obviously this guy hasn't checked ebay recently Man some people really lay on the chin music

there were a like 23 camaros ever built with an LT4 in them. i looked at one once at a place in charolette and they wanted something like 33k for it. it only had like 5000 miles on it and i didnt think that was at all that crazy. just think of things like yenkos and theyre limited production and how much theyre worth. do some more research and figure out what your looking at.
edit: found a t/a with the same type deal heres the link.http://www.morrisonmotorco.com/displ...theme=morrison

Why would they put an LT4 in a 2002 I think they even stoped LT1/4 crate motor production in 98. I could see maybe a LS6 special option. LOL i know if he talks like that i would tell him to pop the hood or never go to have my car inspected there again. The LT4 camaros were the 25th aniversary editon i think only in White with orange stripes. they made LT4 formulas to only about 28 or so i seen 1 for 30k. I really couldnt see buying it unless you were gonna keep it totally stock and never drive it.

he's full of crap. there is no way that happend. besides why would they put an LT4 in it and up the price. even if it had over 400hp its still an infierior engine when it comes to the LSX engines.

Your words are my thoughts, he said that the Ls1 engines are a complete piece of crap, when I asked why he stated that the aluminum heads they come always warp I never heard of that , more b.s.?

By 2002, anyone that had a choice of a brand new LTx powered car or an LSx powered car, if they chose the LTx, they had to have been brain dead. And to pay $50,000 for it......wow. Go back to the guy and throw a brick at his head.
