Default K&N cold air kit, questions

I would like to say in advance that i have tryed searching this site for the past 3 days and for some reason the searh will not work for me, nothing will come up. So sorry for the repeated post if this is one...

Does anyone know why on K&N's website it says that their cold air kit for the 1993-1997 LT1 Camaro does not work on Camaro's with traction control? I personally do not see any problem at all under my 96' Z28 hood that would hinder its instalation.

If for any reason this kit wont work, is the Moroso kit the next best thing to put on my car?

Thanks
Ben

first of all dont buy it directly from K&N. buy it from one of our sponsors. it will probably be cheaper and your supporting them instead of K&N themselves. second dont listen to what they have on the website. nothing gets in the way of the cold air kit. i personally didnt like the look of the plastic cai like the Moroso and the K&N so i went with the SLP. there all within the same amount of hp, its just the name and looks your going to pay for.

To each his own.

I got a Polished Trick Flow w/ a Moroso and I think it looks just dandy.

I like the look of the smaller and more compact K&N kit. And I have had a good history with their products in the past.

Also yes I am buying it from a sponsor. Always the way to go.

Thanks for the help guys, any more tips are appreciated.

im not trying to start any wars with you burnzilla. it was my opinion. i just think your post was not needed. its like you have to post after mine to try to make me look like an ***. i really dont appriciate it. anyways, the reason i dont like the moroso, is a friend of mine has it and it sits up to high and is scraping the paint off of his hood. i dont know if yours does that, but i didnt want to take the chance.

90% of the issue's are either installer error, or a bent up car nobody know's about and K&n is a good setup, i ran the moroso for 4yrs w/ no neg. issue's.. fit nice, and didn't heat soak like some of the other material's... Either will work well for your application..

i do not see how a CAI could be installed improperly. and the car is not "bent" up. heatsoak is only an issue, when your at minimal speeds. @ WOT air is moving so fast that it doesnt have time to heat up from heat soak.

Well things get installed improperly all the time.. it's not as uncommon as you lead on.. i have seen 2 moroso cai's installed and 1 in my own car and they didn't have the issue you speak of.. If it didn't fit right you should have either tried to figure out why? or called them as somtime's there are manufacturing defects' that don't get caught by the QA inspector...

Heat Soak.. air will heat up regardless.. of how fast it's moving, if moving through a hot/warm pipe..how much it'll heat up is questionable.... but it will heat up.. And it's even worse in the summer month's.. So the less heat you transfer the better off you'll be...

i will have to agree with everything you stated. but the fact that my friend had an issue, made me not want to take the chace of me having the same. im sure its a good cai and i know many people use it. i just opted for the slp because i like the way it looks, and it seemed to be a top quality peice.
