i am looking to do a cam and was wondering what were some ideas for which one to get?

What are your goals for the car. Popular choices ar GM847 or cc306 but on a stock motor you might want to go a bit smaller it all depends on what kind of goals you have for it

i really want to run in the 12's for right now but i plan on doing lots more later on

well what all do you have planned? are you looking to swap just cams? or are you going to get new springs/retainers/ect as well? basicly asking if you plan to leave the motor stock?(internals, not talking about bolt ons)

edit* ballpark budget will help too
