Default Lt4 Conversion Or Supercharger???

I Have Recently Came Across A Brand New Lt4 Conversion Kit That A Guy Has That Has Not Been Installed That He Said He Would Sell Me For 2300 I Have Heard That Even Though It Claims To Be 425hp That Tunning And Other Parts Are Required To Get It There...prob Around 330-360...i Like The Lt4 Due To It Being Kinda Hard To Get Ahold Of Now With Gm Discontinuing The Lt4 Intake..i Like That It Kind Of Still Keeps Some Tradition Or Value In The Car As Apposed To Slapping A Supercharger On It...what Do You Think????oh Does The Price Sound Fair Too???

My LT4 TA put 298rwhp and 308rwtq on stock exhaust manifold. I think with a tune a LT headers, 330-350 is it. For that money though, look into a different set up. Lloyd Elliot porting is one of the best bang for your buck you can get!

I would go with a N/A set-up, because who knows how long your stock motor would last under boost. Contact Lloyd Elliot about his LE1 kit, it'll make just as much, if not more then the LT4 kit.

It is NOT 58mm it is the same as an LT1 intake. Mattwer of fact the ports and plenum are almost exactly the same as the late LT1 intakes, the difference is more metal to seal taller ports in the heads, not bigger ports for more flow.

AFRs are not nearly as good as their reputation to make any of their LT1 offering work will be BIG money you are going to be betteroff to stick with ported stock castings. I chose www.advancedinduction.com and my car puts somewhere around 400RWHP down as compared to the 425FWHP the LT4 HOT package offers if that tells you just how "good" the LT4 package IS NOT.

the only reason i say mids is cause they are the best working headers and will keep the cat(s)depending on your smog rules otherwise LTs all the way!!!!!!!!!

My vote is the Supercharger..but you might need a rebuild to be safe..

I wouldn't boost the car unless you do a rebuild. Just for safety. That is why I opted for the LT4 kit. I figured at least it would be a new top end. However now that there are many more options out there other than the LT4. I would go with a different set-up. You will be more likely to get more HP for less cash with other set-ups. I put down 345 through SLP headers. A big jump from the 270 with out the kit. But I was hoping for closer to 375. I was disappointed. I think that I could use a better tune really. But Look into other kits, keep your options open.

you can do waaay better than that. if you are planning on building a motor yourself you can save a lot of money, personally i opted to buy a whole motor for $4500 with well over 450 hp brand new and its still an LT1

Good idea. Stock LT1s aren't much good over 6psi.

Check out our '95 Formula with an ATI ProCharger P-1SC. With stock untouched engine internals, it runs 11.32 at 118 mph in the 1/4. Bob
