Cam specs..
A couple of people asked me this, so I figured I would make a post, cause I know a few, and I am sure someone knows them all.
What exactly does all the specs on a Cam represent, what do they do, and what do you want to look for..
LIFT: How far it opens the Valve, measured in inches.
DURATION: Measured at .050",
LSA(CENTERLINE):

"Can you please rephrase the question?"
duration is how long the valves stay open. valves that stay open shorter have more torque, and are better suited to low RPM power, with power droping off quick in the HP department.
Longerduration is the opposite. the torque peaks at a higher RPM, and has more hp, but tends to lack down low.
LSA is how mch spread the center line lobes have. tigher LSA means a lopey idle, and more peak in torque, and hp that will drop off more suddenly at the top.
a wider LSA will tend to pruduce less peak power, with a flatter, broader power curve. but sacrificing power across the board. the hp will not drop off as quick.
is that what you mean?
