Once we dial the cam bacl in the OPTI pin is trhen off(lets say 3 degree's) and we can dial it back in instead of totaly rebuilding the timing tables and offsets.

Back in the day it was found that as much as 10 RWHP was left on the table if the cam was dailed in and the OPTI was not. No matter what was done in the tuning to fix it This IS why we always have our cams custom cut and do not use self cams any more. We found self cams to be off a fair amount more then the custom cuts

I personaly never tested it but fully trust the source.

In the end it does no one but me any good. Then again "I" am the one that matters here

If the cam is set right and the timing offset takes like 2 minutes in tuning where are you going to get the power from??

I just put mine in and it seems the timing might be usefull once on the dyno and dialing it in there. Once it is set I think it should be left unless you wanted to run race gas at the track or something of the sort. I had to adjust the little screw today to get the car to run decent. It was all messed up out of the box. I made 10-15 shake down runs near the house, tweaking the screw till I felt like there was no popping, nor there any down-low hesitation. I know I wont know for sure where max power is till I hit the dyno, but who has access to a dyno every time they treak something?

Tuning needs to be done in the pcm.

I think we will all agree on the tuning part, but if you want a reliable opti, you either buy a dynaspark or a MSD. Now if you buy a MSD you have to put up with the timing deal. As far as the disk inside the opti, how could it not have more notches? 2 inch wheel and a 3 inch wheel, all the slits on the edge of the wheel and same size and spaced apart how could the bigger disk not have more notchs/slits?

IF it has more slits how does the pcm process that info? If it sees more that it should wouldn't it set a high res code???

The biggest issue with the stock opti was the rotor, a MSD cap and rotor kit hopefully cures that. What exactly do you claim the vast benifits of the billet base to be????

That was the point

Tuning was NOT getting all the correct tables

My biggest claim is what ever I say makes you say more
