Default Speed limiter?

Hey guys whats up? my car apparently has a 110 mph speed limiter. I have heard this was because it had the v6 origionaly so the tires they equiped them with werent rated for the higher speeds. Anyway what do i need to do to get rid of the limiter? thanks in advance!

Aftermarket reprogramming of the pcm is the only fix and that would have been swapped with the engine. I would suggest someone like www.madz28.com

That was what i was told but obviously im wrong. None the less my car shuts down at 110 which is very annoying. Will a hypertech programmer work for getting rid of the speed limiter.

the hypertech is crap. get a custom mail order program. www.pcmforless.com or www.madz28.com its also cheaper than the hypertech

He got robbed..lol Atleast he has a V8.
Mine hit the peg past the 150 mark, and still had more. It was custom tuned though.

my 97 formula was limited at 115, hypertech does take it off but its a useless handheld and id just spend the money and have madz28 tune ur pcm.

the limiter is all in the PCM. PCMforless or madz28 would likely take care of that no problem, and also you will gain power and drivability.

and yes. Hypertech is worthless junk. better off getting an Akm cable, and tunercat, and using a computer to tune it.

Yea, the only thing on the Tranny is the Speed Sensor in the back. Nothing to do with limiting the speed.
