110 mph speedo in Z28
im sure you could get a guage cluster from a wrecked car or something and it would work fine. but i think the speedometer should be the last thing your worried about before purchasing a used car.

It's plug and play. Just get a 150 cluster from a 94-97 and hook it up. You also have the 2-3-D-R-P, granny gears, rev limiter, and non z rated tires.

It's a 4l60E like the 94-97's but it doesnt have the other options. I bought a 97 T/A center console and replaced mine completly so I could take advantage of my Transgo. Granny gears are I believe 2.73's though I may be wrong.
It's just minor things that you wouldve changed anyways if you think about it except for the cluster. I stand corrected 94-96. Could be 93-96 but 93's are wierdos and it's hard to tell what they share and dont share with the newer models.

it is infact a 2:73 geared car if you have those gear selections on the counsole. the reasoning behind the 2:73 geared cars not being able to select first gear is because when you would select first gear at a certain mph it would kick down in that first gear and would not pass noise requirements. so gm had to put in a rubber bumper that would lock all 2:73 geared cars out of first. now to be able to select first gear, there is a simple mod you can do and that is to take the counsole out and cut the bumper off. it takes 5-10 min.

My car came with the 110 speedo and all those crappy options you guys speak of. The limiter actually shuts you off at 105 not 110. I never got another gauge cluster because 1) I thought that the mileage would be off and logged into the other cluster 
2) It sure looks more badass watching the needle rise twice as fast on the 0-110 speedo
, and I rarely go over 100 anyways.

Alot of you are right. If you got a Z-28 with H not Z rated tires it only came with a 110 speedo. My car only has a 110 speedo I did swap in a 150 to see if it worked, and it did. One good think about a car with a 110 speedo is that its more than likely lighter than most other Z-28s, seeing that it the dont usually come with a whole lot of comfy related options.
