Default best price on headers

Who has the best price on headers?Summit has pacesetter's for 285 uncoated. But is there anyone else that can compete with them.I would rather have coated but money might make me change my mind.Anyone have any suggestions?

if your that tight on money, you can coat them yourself. just gotta use por-20(right?) and make sure you get an even complete coat. do a few coats of it, and you'd never know the difference.

they did this in carcraft to a set of flowtech afterburners after they striped the paint off, and it performed very well.

What kinda car is it? flowtech sells uncoated afterburners for 150 that fit a caprice. not sure if they fit an F-body or not. listed as a chevelle header. but low cost on a header, normally means low quaility.

I was wondering how pacesetters quality is, you can get a coated pair for $420. Uncoated hookers cost more! So I'm wondering what the difference is.

I had them on my 94, and I thought they were great. Only problem I had was with the Pacsetter y-pipe hiting the floor pan. I sold my car to a guy I work with and asked him how they were holding up, and he said they looked great. He lives on the beach so I guess there good.

Thanks slowmofo, I'm going duals anyway, but I think I will go with the pacesetters then, don't think you can beat them for the price. Did you install them? Just wondering if they are much more a pain than the BBK shorties I put on.

Mr. Cadillac are you talking about that por-15 stuff, or do they make different varieties of it?

yeah i did them, it wasn't that bad. Just have patience and you should be fine. Hardest part was gettin the passanger side to drop in. I just loosed the k-member alittle to give me the room.

Did alot of searching and found Thunder or Texas Speed had alittle better price.I think Thunder had coated for 370 and Y for around 125.These are for my 95 TA.Also these are pacesetters. Off the topic but how is clearance for trans removal after long tubes?I need to due the clutch and was wondering if the collecters get in the way?Can you still reach the trans bolts?

yes as I had to remove the tranny 3 times right before i sold it due to desroying it at the track. The top right bolt (looking from the back of the car to the front) was the hardest it seemed

hey, my names cory too... Anyways, I think the 15 is the stuff for the underside of the car, and 20 is the high heat stuff. I know they used a Por-**, just not sure which. I duplicolor sells a high temp Aluminum finish, ceramic enhanced "paint". it's more a coating that needs heat to cure. worked great on several exhuast systems I did with it. It shows a pic of a header on the can, but I think the heat of a header would need something a bit tougher. the guy I bought my headers from, Dan at Clear Image(he designs, bends, and sells them) told me that a ceramic enhanced paint would work just fine to fill in the chips on my coated headers, so I don't see why not.

Do the pacesetter long tubes come with O2 extentions?Or is that something that you have to order seperatly?I looked at Summit's web site and it looks like there is some sort of wire in the picture but I cant really tell. These are for a 95 with out rear O2 sensors only the one after the manifold.I quees I could call Summit but this is much easier,LOL.Thanks

My Pacesetter Headers came with enough wire to extend the O2 Sensors. Bought them in May they were coated and still look like new.
