adding a cut-out isn't bad. you can put it in the I-pipe coming back from the Y-pipe. On a stock Y-pipe i don't think there is enough room to fit a cut-out infront of the cat, but you can put the cut-out in after the cat. to install the cut-out you can cut a section out of your I-pipe and add in a prefabbed cut-out. or if you have a welder you can take down your I-pipe, cut a hole in it, weld a piece of pipe over the hole and cap it off. then when you want an open exhaust just open the cap. i hope what i said makes sense... and as for power, i saw 4 hp on a dyno, but i've got headers and no cat, but you mite see a pwoer increase. good luck

i just talked to my buddy and he saw 10 hp when he opened up his cut-out... and he has a flowmaster mufler which they say is restrictive. so u mite feel a good difference with the cut-out
