Default valve covers?!

Well i finished with my 383 build but my friend/mechanic got me the wrong valve covers .. they are the same legnth on both the driver and passenger side of the engine so now i have a really pretty brand new set of valve covers on my motor but cant put the altenator on because they are in the way. who knows where i can get the right ones that will clear my 1.6 rr's? Since i already bought a pair im not trying to spend an arm and a leg but hey, we know how that goes. I started the 383 build talking about "im just going to do the bare minimum" next thing i know i have a 383 planned out and paid for silly me

stock valve covers will clear your 1.6 rockers. even the widebody pro mags will fit with easy support bending.

Yes stockers will work

I run 1.6 Pro Mags on my car. The modification takes 5 minutes. if it takes any longer you're being **** about how straight the supports are or you dont know what you're doing....

You pull the covers and you'll see the "L" brackets. Take a pair of pliers and bend the supports straight. A few people have stated they didnt have to crush the baffle on the passenger side, but I did just incase. Take a nice pair of channel locks and crush it. You shouldnt have any clearance problems.

Grinding a little bit from the back of the alternator cleared a set of proform covers on a friends LT1.

With a Different Cylinder head (AFR) you can chose center or perimeter.

Kicking around the idea of notching a cheaper set of covers to clear the alt. I was going to do the relo, but decided agains because im not going manual stearing this year.

There are a LOT of custom options. You could even get a $30 pair of covers and beat the **** out of the front to clear the alt, you wouldnt ever see the beating either. Just make it look decent. Those Cantons are ******* SOOOO overpriced.
