Post Coil On Plug

has anyone heard anything about a coil on plug as a substitute for the optispark? some information would be nice because my opti is bad and im just wondering if i should just put the extra money into the coil on plug and save myself the pain and suffering. cuz those optis are not cheep

lol, the coil over plug setups are not cheaper than a GM opti. heck, a 95-97 one is 289. I know one system is deltec, or something, and it still needs part of the opti. I know there is anouther type, but donno anything about it.

Currently all the multi coil systems require that the backside of the opti still function because the pcm needs he high and low resolution signals from the optical sensor, all they bypass is the actual spark distribution. So depending on what part of your opti is bad you may be buying one anyway.
