Default Bronze dist gear with XFI cam in LT1?

Do I want to do this? If so, what shaft diameter, is it .491?

Bronze gears are designed as a wear item, definetely not something you want to deal with.

Use it as a last resort. Get a cam with the right gear on it and you won't have a problem.

Comp Cams messed up my order and my cam eats gears like crazy. Stock one in 300 miles bronze ones in 1K miles. Pretty crapy.

Diameter is .427

Installed a new gear from GM with the new rebuild. As mentioned above Bronze is not really recommended IMO. I got my cam from Lingenfelter and that was what they said they use on new installations.

Anyone got the GM PN for the factory LT1 gear? (Just the gear, don't really want to replace the adapter part if I don't need to...) I was told to use a SBC dist gear, but looking at the gear, it appears to have a different profile than the SBC dist gears.

or can I simply order any steel .427 SBC dist drive gear? Both Jegs and Summit have 'em at really reasonable prices.

Which cam? I just got an XFI cam, don't want to buy another short block due to a bad cam oil pump drive gear!
