Default ESC Problem!?

The problem is on a 95' lt-1. The opti/distributor, cap/rotor, pick up coil, and igntion module is all brand new. The SES light stays on contantly, and the scanner said: electonic spark control failure. The car has just quit running going down the road on two serparate occasions lately. The car lately has a miss in the lower rpm range sometimes, but not always. The plugs and wires are also brand new. The timing is supposedly advacing correctly to the scanner when the car is running. The gas mileage is rather poor also. The 02's and egr have been replaced. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Electronic spark controll is the dist. , module , pcm & wiring between those componets. Distributor sends crank position to pcm, pcm decides spark advance sents to module & module triggers coil. Check wiring #1 & then pcm & maybe an update?

Appreciate the info., but I've done all of that. I'm starting to wonder about the distributor. I have a reman. unit from O'Reily Auto Parts. My friend has the same distributor on his car too, and his car is not running right and it is getting poor gas mileage. The timing is advancing way too much when it's not supposed to. He replaced it b/c he thought that was the problem, but it wasn't. His car wasn't doing what it is until he changed it out. I could be wrong, but it's sure ironic. What do you think?
