Been there done that. Using a sequentional F.A.S.T System and a MSD Billet small base dist.Modified the LT4 intake to accept the dist. And used the base only from the opti-CRAP to mount a msd cam sync sensor to sync the injectors.

Got a lot of questions since I'm stupid.
1. Can i use a stock LT1 base.
2. When you say you used the opti-crap base, what part exactly are you talking about?
3. Do you have to use F.A.S.T or can you use a different com?
Any explanation of the process will be greatly appreciated since I'm putting a lot of cash in this engine and don't want the opti-spark to fail.

Another option is the Accel dual sync distributor. It gives you the needed signal for sequential, and you can just put the GM cover plate over the opti hole. I'm not sure if it works with the F.A.S.T., but that's what I'll be using with my Gen VII DFI.

Can the distributor be removed without cutting the cowl ?

I used the small base MSD dist. because of the room that we have in the engine compartment .I have about 1 1/2 in. clearance from the firewall you can use any IPU computer DFI/F.A.S.T/Gen VII it just needs to be set up for IPU.Ionly used the base and mounting wheel for the optics not the optics themself .I made an aluminium wheel with the sensor magnet located in it for the cam sync sensor. There is now way you would be able to get the distributor out with out cutting the cowl. With the plastic wiper trim in place you cannot notice that the cowl is cut.The motor see's 7800rpm without crossfire with the small distributor cap . When I set out to do this MSD also has a dual sync distributor but the size just makes it to tight. If you are running a bank to bank system you dont even need a cam sync. And you could just use the GMPP opti block off plate.

Chris, It was nice meeting you at the Thunder Shootout. Your car is immaculate!

I'm running Bank/Bank FAST, and would like to run a conventional distributor.

Would you be interested in modifying my intake and supplying me with the proper parts to make it work?

Hey thanks Chris, just let me know. I'm probably gonna tear the car down after the PRI show, it's going to be down for a couple months anyway, so you could have the intake for quite a while..

I don't know how you want to go about it, but if I knew the part number for the distributor, I could get that ahead of time too.

thanks again!
