Default 94 vette

This guy I know just bought a 94 vette. What engine did they come with? He said it has a LT5 but I dont have a clue of how to tell. What it all really comes down to is he wants to run me. I have 01 T/A Ram Air LS1. This guy is one of the biggest S--- talkers I have ever seen. Should I run him or stay away? oh yes they are both stock except I have macs and exhaust and preditor tuner and ran a 13.1 before I got the tuner.

You will know if it is an LT5 if it is a ZR1 corvette. Will say ZR1 on the back and is actually 4 inches wider than a normal corvette in the rear. The intake will look like a spider with a bunch of individual runners. They are much faster than a stock LT1 which is what 92-96 vettes and 93-97 F-bodies came with. LT5= roughly Low 13's @ 110 ish...some faster some slower...as opposed to LT1's 103 ish give or take some for mods and years.

The ZR1 is only 3 inches wider in the rear. For more information, see:

Not trying to turn this into a 3" vs. 4" debate <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

but...since the ZR1's introduction, I have always heard that it was 4" wider in the rear. ??

Nope. 3 inches. Take a look at the rear end of a ZR1:

http://corvetteactioncenter.com/cgi-bin/archives/ imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=1984_-_1996/ZR-1&image=95zr1d.jpg&img=12&tt=

and the rear end of a standard c4 vette:

Notice the two black spacers between the license plate and backup lights on the rear of the ZR1? Each of those spacers measures exactly 1.5 inches.

ZR(LT5) is a DOHC motor with a flat grey intake that is HUGE with individual intake runners...looks nothign like a LT1 at ALL. if he pops the hood, you will nkow instantly. plus it has 17x11 rims in teh back and 17X9.5 in the front

Okay...im a 'vette guy and i hang out on corvetteforum.com. so let me set a few things straight. the ZR1 is 3" wider in the rear. you can check this in any corvette book, and as stated above, the spacers do measure exactly 1.5" each. Second, ZR1's are not low 13 second cars unless you live at a higher altitude. ZR1's will easily run into the 12s. my Exhaust-only '94 LT1 Six speed vette will run 13.1's and 13.2's all day long at martin dragstrip in michigan. Lastly, the ZR1's have a second set of venturis inside the intake that opens under a heavier load, and there are videos of ZR1's on www.racingfreaks.net (which works sometimes) walking away from ZO6's on the top end. above 100, these cars will pull like a raped ape, not to mention that they have an aerodynamic and weight advantage over you.

ZO6 wasnt built for top speed, its top speed is lower than the LS1 Corvette by a 3-4 mph.
