Which Solid Lifters do YOU have?
I had the #7 exhaust lifter start squeaking real loud and at the top of lift it gets stuck in the bore when the spring isn't there to push it back down. Motor is coming out to get the bore checked out and if need be will get bronze sleeves for all bores and my lifters are not going back in. I was curious to what the other Solid set up LT1's are using for lifters?? I currently have the Comp #873's (tall body w/ link bar) these do not come out unless the heads are off the block which sucks ***.
I'm looking for lifters that don't require block machining, but all info is welcome even if you have anything to say about those that do require maching. Thanks.

I have the Crane 11522's in my motor now, but also have a set of Comp EndureX lifters here that will be going in when I refreshen it later this year. Both are good IMO.

I have the Crane 11522's myself. Only have about 400 miles on them so far though. I would really consider a Crower or Isky too. No p/ns for you though.
How much time did you have on the Comps? I have heard of a lot of Comps failing...well more than any other lifter.

I'm in Daytona and my condo is about a block away from Crane Cam's main office, I might just go by there and see if they have any in stock. **Do you know if the lifters can be installed with the heads on the block? With the Comp #873 lifers the heads have to come off for lifter removal.
What's different about the Comp EndureX?

Patrick, I am almost sure that the 11522's will go in with the heads on....in fact I would bet on it. The EndureX's should too. I am not familiar with the Comp 843 lifter, but I am almost sure that you need to run a late model specific lifter due to the requirement of needing a longer lifter body. So, if the 843s are not late model specific, that may be the reason for your problems.
The 11522s (as well as the EndureX I believe) have a .300" taller body. The EndureX lifters have an extra oil grove too.
Hope this helps

If you go there, go down and look at the 873's (not 843). Those are the lifters I have. I think I'm just gonna get some Cranes or Crowers when I get ready to put the motor back in. BTW school, work, and flying sucks when you need time to work on your g-ride. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

My bad...I meant the 873s in my post.
The Crane 11522s are a great lifter....alot of people use them and I have only heard of great success with them.
Patrick, do you go to Embry Riddle?
