DOHC has very little if anything to do with the way the motor sounds. Firing order and block material have most of the effect.

for everone who didnt read the article or the link, heres a short summary- the lt5 was a DOHC 32 valve motor like said above that was built by a seperate company (mercury marine) that was not in house at gm it was one serious motor and with some work is very very powerful, they were only available in the ZR1 vettes from the factory, the lt5 like the ls7 was hand assembled, in 1986 the first vettes were sent to lotus in england to be converted to the lt5 platform, 80 zr1s were made in 89 but none were sold to the public, zr1 is first made available to the public in 1990 with the 375 hp lt5 motor, in 1993 the lt5 was upped to 405 hp from the factory, 1995 is the last year for the zr1/lt5 model if i missed anything please add it in

Verdad Gallardo oh almost forgot it set a speed/endurance record, i dont have the exact numbers but a search will pull them up if you really want them i believe it was around ~175 MPH for something like 5k miles
