It was a $25K option on the Vette late 80s to early 90s I believe is a DOHC was pretty wild for it's day, today though the ONLY think it would have going for it would be the WOW factor.

SEARCH BUTTON is right. It was a DOHC V8 with 375/405hp that came in the 1990-1995 Corvette ZR-1s.

For the budget spent you could do a whole lot more with an LT1.

True, but I haven't seen any 9 second LT1's with minor head work and an upgraded cam(s).

That goes with anything. The LT5 has more potential N/A than the LT1 and was built tougher. It's the king.

When you have a general question such as this, either use

1) The FAQ (https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/298077-ultimate-lt1-newbie-faq.html)
2) THE SEARCH FUNCTION

Here's a wealth of info for you

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...zr1/index.html

It's the only motor the Corvette has ever that wasnt used in other production cars. There's a big myth that it's more exspensive to maintain but that's untrue. Now is the time to buy one. Etc, etc.

True. A 400 HP Z51 Vette these days is 2-3 times more than a Zr1 used.
