What cam is in the LT1 motor? Stock? LT4? LT4 HOT?
If the LT4 HOT cam were in it, then I'd say the 97 would get the nod. Otherwise, either an LS1 win or a tie. I put the LT4 HOT Cam kit, home ported stock valve size LT1 casting '96 heads, and SLP sucky headers on my car. 12.8's @ 109 on 245x50x16 SZ50 Firestone tires. I raced John Campbell that day. This was before he got all his mods. He tree'd me but I was turning 12.8's to his 12.9's that day at HRP.

If the 97 has headers and a tune to up the shift points it should be an easy victory. My car with a cam, bone stock heads, mac shorties and stock gears went 13.0@112. And thats in a full weight car. It seems like mightyquicks car isn't running like it should if it has heads. A heads/cam ls1 or lt1 should have no problem going atleast 115mph in the quarter.

115 for a h/c LT1? Their a little faster than that, we got guys doing that with CC306s and stock heads, LT4s and CC305s on a real strong car can do 112-114. We got a couple guys breaking 11s with cam only cars. Ken Anderson is breaking 11s with a hot cam stock head car. Freak, sounds like you weren't hooking at all. Theres bolt on LT1 guys doing mid 12s easily.

So, if this guy with the 97 modded his car right he should have no problems whatsoever with the ls1. I never said a bolton lt1 couldn't go mid 12's. Thats pretty easy to do. Yeah i had a 2.16 60' on that run. Btw that was with a 306 with stock heads, gears and shorties. So i know what these cars can trap . And i know marcin traps 115. I have since switched to the 305. My name on cz28 is kreinmc.

LOL.. I'm not Craig Gallant home porting my heads. This was the first set of heads I'd ever ported. I probably made them flow worse than stock. I'm having some professionally ported heads made as I type. Once I get the new ones put on (Early May I presume) then I'll get my home ported ones flowed to see what numbers they produced.

Freak,

Cool, I post as Neil350 on the board, your car sounds so awesome in that one video of the 306. Your the reason I decided to stick with the CC305 cam.
