^Thats my understanding of it.
I would just get one because it isnt very expensive and you will know your not having false knock issues and wha tnot especially since you have a hotcam and 1.6rr's. I dunno if ur car was tuned or not but if it was, they could have desensatized the knock sensor therefore the stock one is working for you.

If your stocker is fine why change. I dont believe in the LT4 KM anymore. You can get whatever you need through tuning.

You know you can just get a tune to fix that and save the money.

Well, reading your first post I'm sure you can see where the confusion came from. Anyways I cant speak for everyone but I noticed nothing after going with it. I used scanmaster to read knock and between the LT4KM and stocker there was no change. Not even a 1 degree change. Some say the SOTP told them it works great. My Scanmaster > SOTP Datalogging.

Yea you can have your KS/KM totally bypassed but If your engine does have true knock and pinging then your gonna eventually do some damage! The KM picks up the knock and tells the PCM to retard timing so the engine will run in a limp mode as a precautionary measure. Therefore hurting performance by bogging the engine under load at at certain RPM!

I can see that..when it spun the Mains and knocked and shook internally, it was mis-firing. That could be why.

The LT4 Knock Module is just a better filter at weeding out the the good knock (Roller Rockers and Solid Roller Cams and anything else) from the bad knock. Yes it can be done in the tune and it can also be used along with the tune. Bottom line it is just a filter, if you do not have any extra noise it will not do anything for you at all. They wouldn't have used it in the LT4 if it didn't provide some type of use.
