Dump some weight! The stall and gears are a great suggestion, but the weight savings cost you nothing.

A light car is hard to come by, I was the lightest street Camaro the last time I went to the track. The closest one was 3500 something.. The Mustangs were 3700's, so we still have a little advantage, plus the extra 1.1 Liters...

^Why does it seem everyone elses car is so heavy? I've always wondered what you cut out of yours, your about 220 lbs. lighter than mine.
I've got a hardtop, a/c, but no power windows/locks/seats. My car weighed in at 3640, that was a full tank of gas, spare tire/jack, my 137 pc. craftsman tool set I keep in the car and my 190-200 lbs. *** sitting in it. Nothing removed for weight savings.
So I keep wondering why so many of them weigh so much more. A lot of t-top fully optioned cars or something?

I was 3240 Chassis weight. That was no spare, no jack, no Back Seats, No AC, Trunk empty, and everything else intact. I didn't cut out anything, all factory. It was actually 3320, but it had about 12 gallons of gas in it, and we factored out the weight of that(gas roughly 6.3lbs/gal), we ended up with 3240. I have weighed it on other scales, and ended up factoring it to about the same every time.
My 150lb fat *** in it, quarter tank of gas, it's about 3420lbs. I can live with that..

^Nice, now I roughly know how much I'm leaving on the table weight wise, without modifying the car like chopping out door supports or anything.
