95' EGR block off plates

In your picture, the only thing removing AIR will get you is the valve and tube between your fuel line and the TCS box. There's one on the passenger side as well. Removing them does clear up a few cubic inches of space, but it's not going to be dramatic. Even removing EGR won't clear up much, as it's all tucked up way back in the back. Removing AIR on an LS1 has a much more dramatic effect (as the pump is where the LT1 cold air box is, and there are large hoses running across the engine bay).
Removing them will throw codes without reprogramming. Won't run different, but your check engine light will be lit.
And please clean up that wiring under your hood. That's a mess.

No offense, but YOU probably shouldn't attempt this.
1) You are baffled by what AIR even is, you might take out something you need by mistake.
2) It will light the check engine light, and MAY cause fans to run all the time. I'm not going to explain why. You should know why if you attempt this.
3) It WILL cause you to fail emissions in every place they have emissions.
4) Tuning cannot remove the codes in a way to allow you to pass emissions in the same way that tuning can defeat emissions-related codes in an LS1.
5) If your buddy has a "clean" engine bay, you should ask him to help you clean yours up, and ask what issues if any his changes have made for him.

I can't say how long it might take you. It would take me, given a sufficient supply of tools and good working conditions, about 1 hour, less with a lift, maybe a bit more if rust and a floor jack are involved.
Outdoors, in so-so weather, on dirt in the side yard, and with some hassle, it might take me all day.
And it still wouldn't solve the emissions problem, or the tuning issue.
YOUR engine bay would greatly improve in appearance if the wiring issues (loose wires randomly strung over the engine) were addressed competently first.

Took me about 30 minutes to remove AIR as well, but I already had my headers in. The hardest part was pulling that damn pipe down the bottom because I didn't have a pipe cutter lol.
EGR was easy to pull off with the intake still on

well really i just need to clean that some bitch up. i know for a fact like my friend and i decided. i could prolly spend about 4 hours just rerouting wires and cleaning that **** up. also how hard is it to pull the intake with a stock clusterfuck setup

Intake doesn't take that much time to pull. I took mine off in about a couple of hours of playing around. Once you clean up all of the wires, it will look nice. I took my whole Harness since the Engine is out, and took off all of the extra plugs, cleaned and taped it up more so it looks nice. I also fixed things on it that were old and broken.

i took off the smog pump and pluged the holes in the manifolds. well no codes. runs fine. no check engine light. but i bought the car like this and it was all sorts of phucked up under the hood. there are soo many wires under the hood it isnt funny. the guy said that best buy wired the alarm on this. but to be honest i dont think they would release a vehicle with wires hanging under the car and all over. anyone know what else can be taken off that wont affect anything and that will clean it up. i live in KS so there is no emmisions crap. also on the driver side valve cover there is a cover i took off and under it looks like a pump (or so my friend thinks) is that something with the egr or what. becuase thats another cubic foot of space wasted under there and want to know what the hell purpose its there for. iw ill post a pic of what i have now
