Default Gears Question?

here is my question......I got A4 with stock 2.73's, i took it to the track and ran 13.8 @ 101 MPH 1/4 mile with just exhuast.....i want to change my rear end gears, cause my 60 ft time is 2.2 and my 1/8 mile was 9 flat. i want a quicker pick up. i was thinking 3.42's or should i go with the 3.73's?

I have a 3.42's and a ton of mods and pull a 2.1-2.2 60 on my street tires.

What will help the most is sticky tires but ditch those gears. 3.73 is a good all around gear.

Youll actually probably lose time in the quarter, cuz youll have to learn how not to spin tire ..launching will be different. Until you get used to the new gears you might see a -gain to a .1, after that you should see .2-.3 reduction.

I cut 1.80 60' with the 2.73's last friday on BFG DR's, get some good rubber if you want to install gears or you will spin off the line and lose time.

then stick with your catback and airfilter as the only mods you do. because its called power and requires fuel which might effect your precious gas mileage....
