how do i know what gears i have i have 2 93 camaro z28s, one has a rearend change so im not worried about that one. I heard that the gear shifter will tell you, mine reads prnDd21, i routinely averaged 19 or 20mpg between highway and city, but about 70% of my driving is interstate. I was really wondering. I read something about it say gu2 or gu5 on the inside of the door, but i didnt see it.

With the age of our cars and the frequency of rear end failures, the only way to be sure is to count the teeth. That is unless you are the original owner.
Just get on the highway and see what RPM you're turning at a steady speed. It's quite easy to figure out from that.
