also what brand of converter are u buying? i would recommend fuddle, precision industries, or yank.
bang for the buck, go with fuddle.
if u want to get what u pay for, go with YANK.
as for drag radials i will look into them but i am only 17 and planning to work on airplanes in the next few years adn this winter i am going to install a ultra z hood and repaint it like a show car so just slightly modding it now

Edge is my pick for converters but would also recommend Yank and Vig.

Just a bad idea to run a cheap converter... you wont gain what you should, and its only a matter of time before it costs you some bloody knuckles and more money....
a cheap convertor will likely balloon. when it does,it will send metal through the rest of the trans, then its time for a rebuild......not cheap.
also stock shift timing at light throttle makes the shift fell mushy/non-existant. I prefer a shift that you still know is there. There is no sense in laboring the convertor and building heat with the low shift tables.
remember just because yank and vig have a nice website and are sponsors doesn't mean everyone else is shitty. i went to a shop that was highly recommended by guys who use their product in several 9 and 8 second cars. they also do transmissions and converters for alot of IHRA racers. they have a 3-5 year (forgot how long it actually is) transmission warranty and a 2 year warranty on their converter. so dont go thinking that a converter that is less than $900 is not worthy. Go to the fast cars at the track and ask them who did their work and you might be surprised at the who did the work and the prices they charge for proven products compared to these other well known companies.
so just make sure you go to a place with a good reputation. Yank and Vig have that established on a much larger scale than these local shops but that doesn't mean that the local shops are ****. and remeber someone will always have a horror story about a company no matter who the company is.
