race prep intake
September 6, 2004
Race-Prep is currently in development of a new LT4 semi-sheetmetal intake. Horsepower gains are estimated to be 30-40 whp over a conventionally ported intake, and allows intake to be sized up or down with interchangeable lids for different applications. We are in the final stages of development and should have some hard numbers in the next three weeks.
has anyone read this on race prep? i hope they make it

Notice the description says "semi-sheet metal." If you look at the pic next to the description, it's a worked over stock LT4 intake, rather than a completely new intake fabbed from scratch. No more LT4 intakes around, so I guess we know what happened to that idea...

yes I have actually posted about thiese a few times and got some help from the fast guys.
They are extremely modified stock intakes. I have about $1,400 in that one before it got the Nitro Dave Direct port. This winter we plan on swaping a stock intake on and seeing what the gains are
We have two of them on the shop cars for testing. one LT1 and one LT4.
We plan on building another one soon learning from our mistakes and good points. I am hoping to get the costs down some but in the end they are still very expensive to make Bret Squim and a few others have made them over the years. Mine just retains ALL the factory mounting save few the modified fuel rails
This setup has supported over 600RWHP and near 800RWTQ on the bottle with a hydro. roller cam only sporting .600 lift
I will try to dig up pics of both intakes
