Help with idle problem
I am new to this board. I have a surging idle problem. I have a '96 firebird engine in '70 Chevy truck. When I put the engine in I installed some front o2's from a 96 chevy truck that I had laying around. Could this be causing a surging idle? I know there is different part numbers for the truck and car sensors, but should they work? My engine runs fine just don't idle very good. It surges while in gear and sometimes will die but most of the time it jumps around till it finally staightens up. Here is the setup: 383 stroker, 52mm bbk throttle body, ford 42 lb injectors, hooker long tube headers, lunati cam Duration 215, 224 @.050 .489 lift, 1.6 rr, fuel pressure is 42 psi at WOT and pcmforless tune.
I checked IAC and cleaned. It is working but it can not find the sweet spot. I set TPS voltage to .75 volts. Any thing below .7 volts makes the idle worse. There is no vacuum leaks. I have adjusted fuel pressure up and down and that makes it worse so I put it back to 42 psi. No engine codes. If some one has some tips I am all ears.

More info... My headers are 1 3/4" tube hooker super competition made for sbc in 67-87 chevy trucks. I installed o2 bungs into the collectors. Should I be running headers specifically for LT1?
